The creation of a striking new building, at the heart of our campus, to provide stand-alone boarding accommodation for Year 8 and state-of-the-art classrooms for Year 5.

2017 - Papplewick's 70th anniversary – is the ideal time for this development, which will prepare us for the decades ahead.

Boarding lies at the heart of the school, whether in recruiting and retaining the high quality staff, in developing the boys' all-important personal qualities, or in enabling the boys to have the 'fun and friendship of a sleepover', as they would describe our modern, family-friendly boarding experience.

We are therefore embarking on a major project to enhance the boys' experience at Papplewick. This new development will underline our commitment to boarding. It will also bring other benefits across the school.

A dedicated space for special needs teaching

As part of this Phase 1 development, we plan to convert the existing Yr 8 dormitories.

We believe that a designated centre for learning support lessons would be of enormous benefit to the boys concerned, so we plan to convert part of the vacated dormitory space for this purpose.

Improvements across the board

By freeing up space, the new boarding house will improve the experience for all our boarders. The with freed-up dormitory space being used creatively to develop a home from home 'feel' in the dorms, and a greater number of younger boys being able to enjoy the increasingly popular option of part-time boarding.
