1918-2018: A huge milestone has arrived. Bickley Park School has completed its first centenary. So we are planning something big…

The plan to create a striking new building at the heart of the school, to provide:

  • a flexible performance space
  • a 300 seat theatre
  • a venue for high profile talks and lectures
  • a gallery to celebrate the boys’ artwork
  • a welcoming café and social area
  • a multi-purpose venue for the local community
Bickley boys: confident and engaging

Bickley boys: confident and engaging...

It is intended that the footprint of the current theatre space will be enlarged to accommodate the exciting new Performing Arts Centre. Rising to two storeys at the front – to provide foyer, café and gallery space - the centre will include a 300-seat multi-purpose theatre, which can be easily converted into two recital rooms or rehearsal studios to support the diversification of the arts programme at the school.

Taking performance to new heights

A new, flexible theatre space will allow the performance programme in the school to expand in quantity and quality. Each production will seat a larger audience and allow more boys to participate. The flexibility of the space will allow more creative options for performances. We can use the space end on, in the round, in traverse or as an immersive space. The improved sound system and acoustics will enhance the quality of productions and, in particular, musicals and concerts.
